Past few days market behaviour is a bit erretic & confusing. There is a sell off across commodities (Crude, Gold and Base Metals) but Equities havent sold off as yet.

Positive action is confined to very few stocks mainly in the mid-cap names. Derivative Position is not alarming, but key to market view is “what happens to liquidity flows”?

The answer to that lies in : What happens to the Us $ vis a vis Re. and other currencies. Its futile to try and form a view here, so we shall not comment. To what extent people are factoring in the hike in the interest rates upto March 2010. There is surely going to be rate hike in India as the growth is strong and the inflation is heading up strongly, but the key is to what extent? a hike beyond 100 basis points by March
